The latest drug prices…and much, more more
This is the latest post in a monthly series reproducing Andrew Brown’s monthly slideshare of interesting new facts about alcohol and other drugs which he has unearthed from a wide range of reports.
Andrew works for MEAM/Making Every Adult Matter, the coalition of three national charities (Clinks, Homeless Link and Mind) who champion the cause of people experiencing multiple needs and who have been kind enough to allow Andrew’s monthly slideshares to be re-published here.
This month’s slides focus on a range of subjects including online drug dealing, the relationship between alcohol use and domestic abuse and the impact of alcohol treatment on offending.
Some of the facts I found most interesting were:
- Most websites trying to selling legal highs to Brits are based in the USA (slide 3)
- Alcohol treatment has strong positive impact on re-offending rates (slide 6)
- There is a much higher rate of high risk drug users in Scotland and Wales compared to England (slide 8)
- Heroin is dearer than cocaine powder (slide 9)
