The United States of bizarre laws

For a little bit of light relief on the weekend, I though I would share the infographic below from Olivet Nazarene University which picks out one bizarre law still on the statue books in every US state.

They range from laws which might have made more sense last century to the alarmingly recent.

My personal favourites are:

  • One armed piano players in Iowa must perform for free
  • It is illegal to wake a sleeping bear to take his/her photo in Alaska
  • People in Tennessee are banned from sharing their netflix password while Texans are proscribed fro selling their eyes
  • It’s illegal to mispronounce Arkansas – in Arkansas

Enjoy!
