Who will run new probation?
Following the announcement of the organisations who successfully completed the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire hurdle in the Transforming Rehabilitation competition last week, I thought it might be interesting to provide a very brief overview of the 30 bodies who want to run probation services from 2015.
There are a mix of aspiring large private companies (15), probation mutuals (11), voluntary organisations (10), County and Borough Councils (3) and a further education college (1) – these add up to more than 30 since many organisations are in partnerships or Joint Ventures. You will see from the list below that several organisations are in more than one partnership – for instance the drug provider CRI is bidding alone and in partnership with Ingeus and St Giles Trust; Sodexo also qualified as a sole bidder and in partnership with a Greater Manchester and Cheshire probation mutual.
This post replicates the official list below and provides links to either the partnership/Joint Venture if they have a web-presence or to the most relevant page of the main partners.
Just click on the hyperlink of the main organisations. Please feel free to offer corrections and improvements to the list:
