The Ministry of Justice is a hugely interesting Department with a very important role to play. We work to protect the public and reduce re-offending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public. We are responsible for courts, prisons, probation services and attendance centres. We are also responsible for making new laws, strengthening democracy, and safeguarding human rights. We work in partnership with other government departments and agencies to serve the public, improve the Criminal Justice System, and support victims of crime.

We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead a new Commissioning Directorate and play a significant leading role in our programme of work to reform the prisons and probation services, and ultimately help every offender turn their life around. This is a demanding and high profile post in a fast paced and fascinating policy area which will give you a unique opportunity to build a new, high performing team within Ministry of Justice.

To be successful in this post you will have a strong track record of driving performance improvement in a large and complex operational business. You will be a visible leader, able to motivate and develop your teams to create a high performing, inclusive culture. You will also have the ability to build strong partnerships at a senior level and gain the confidence of ministers.
